Our Story

We met in February 2020, just before the pandemic... and let’s just say, we both felt love at first sight.
When the pandemic hit, we did everything together. We had only gone on one official date before everything shut down, so we improvised at home and came up with creative themes and menus to cook for each other. We had many “Date nights in,” and we stocked up on copious amounts of wine. What a time, am I right? Looking back (Janae speaking here) I’m grateful that we met just before the world turned into the unknown. We spent so much time outdoors and got to know each other in what felt like a period that time stopped, and it was simply just us. No matter what happened next, we had each other.
As time went on and businesses opened, we started exploring new *to us* restaurants, went on camping adventures, Ankur taught me how to ski, helped me through my last grueling year of college, and we started traveling together. We LOVE to travel. In the last 4 years, we’ve been to California 5x (we both have family in SoCal), Nashville, Victoria, Whistler 2x, and Riviera De Maya.
We moved into together in early 2023 and Ankur proposed August 28th, 2023, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It was an absolute magical dream come true. If there’s one thing I’d want you to know about A, it’s that he’s a damn good planner, and good at planning vacations. The man thinks of everything.
A little behind the scenes of the proposal planning. About 6 months before he proposed he started looking at diamonds and settings. This man is slick, he took me to casually try on rings about 3-4 months before that, and at that time I was not suspicious or thinking it was happening any time soon. He messaged my best friend to tell her it was happening and show her the ring, and when we went to CA in early August he brought the ring and asked my parents for my hand in marriage. Can you believe this you guys? I was like whaaatttt. His whole family knew too!
It has been so sweet to integrate each other into our families and friend groups. We are truly grateful to be welcomed with open arms and feel like one big family. We love making memories and spending time with all of you and cannot wait to see you at the wedding!
